Competing Cables Headband

Competing Cables Headband

  • Cast on 18 stitches.
  • Size 8 or 9 needles. I used 9s.
  • Aran or worsted weight yarn. I used aran weight.
  • Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed, but honestly, you can use any yarn of any kind that you prefer.
C2F - Slip two stitches to cable needle, hold in front, knit two, then knit two from cable needle.
C2B - Slip two stitches to cable needle, hold in back, knit two, then knit two from cable needle.

Row 1 - K3, P1, K4, P2, K4, P1, K3
Row 2 -  K4, P4, K2, P4, K4
Row 3 - K3, P1, K4, P2, K4, P1, K3
Row 4 - K4, P4, K2, P4, K4
Row 5 - K3, P1, C2F, P2, C2B, P1, K3
Row 6 - K4, P4, K2, P4, K4

Knit to desired length

On a right side row, do a buttonhole row:

K3, P1, YO, K2TOG, K2, P2, K2, K2TOG, YO, P1, K3

OR

K1, K2TOG, YO, P1, K4, P2, K4, P1, YO, K2TOG, K1

Whichever version floats your boat. :)

Then continue for the next two rows in pattern.

Bind off on right side in pattern. Weave in ends.

If you find any errors, let me know ASAP! Or even if you have suggestions to improve this design.

If you enjoy this pattern, feel free to share with friends, and sell what you make, but please don’t claim as your own.
