Greenie Cables

Greenie Cables

Needles: US 6 circs and dpns
Yarn: worsted weight (I used Cascade Sierra Quattro)

I improvised this pattern to use up some yarn. Its a good stash buster.

Cast on 92 stitches, join in round being careful not to twist. Place marker for beginning of round.

C2F = two stitches to cable needle, hold in front, knit 2 then knit two from cable needle.

Round 1: K4, P2, K2, P2 to end.
Round 2: K4, P2, K2, P2 to end.
Round 3: K4, P2, K2, P2 to end.
Round 4: K4, P2, K2, P2 to end.
Round 5: K4, P2, K2, P2 to end.
Round 6: C2F, P2, K2, P2 to end.

Knit in pattern for 2 or 3 repeats depending upon how long you want to. (I did 3 repeats). When you’re satisfied with the length of the cable pattern, start knitting stockinette for as long as you wish. (I did 8 rounds.)

Start decreases:
K8, k2tog
K7, k2tog
K6, k2tog,
K5, k2tog
K4, k2tog
K3, k2tog
K2, k2tog
K1, k2tog
K2tog, k2tog
K2tog

Break yarn and pull through remaining stitches and weave in ends.
