The Last Few Days

Hello all! I hope this post finds you fabulous. This past week hasn't been overly productive. I've thrifted a little bit, but not much. This weekend we hit a flea market with my family and I found a few things. I'm still trying to get all my projects done for Fondue Fest, but honestly, I'm still working on a simple ribbed scarf because I had to work a lot and mostly because I'm pretty lazy, haha! I still have a lot to do though, and this coming week, I might be able to get stuff done, but the weekend? Oh hellz no. I won't be able to get much of anything done. Friday, we're having a craft night at a friend's house, Saturday we have a cookout at a different friend's house and Sunday we're going to to the Bristol Renaissance Faire with the friend we're crafting with on Friday. This coming weekend will possibly be productive, but probably mostly won't be. Super busy. Tomorrow, I have a photography appointment, and Tuesday I'm just going to veg all day. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I work.

Super bust week coming up. Phew! Now onto my finds!

This first batch was what I thrifted locally.

$5.00 at St. Vinnie's. I also found another flash there for $4.00 that I didn't blog about. I used the other one, but it didn't cycle fast enough for me. There was about  30 seconds to a minute between being able to take photos. THIS flash works great, hardly any time between cycling, I love it.

$8.00 at St. Vinnies. They're OWLS! I could not leave this owl tea set there for $8.

$.99 at Goodwill. I've always wanted a sleep mask because I'm a light sleeper. This one is awesome because it has little eye packs that you can freeze and put in the mask itself. Which is great for swollen allergy eyes!

$3.99 At Goodwill. A cute sweatshirt from Old Navy.

$.99 at Goodwill. Stretchy belt.

$2.99 at Goodwill. I needed a new bag to hold all my notions for knitting, this one is definitely big enough.

$2.99 at Goodwill. I love owls. 'Nuff said.

The next collection  of items I procured at Mukwonago Days, which is just a huuuge flea market basically.

5 CDS for $20 - I love some Marilyn Manson - Remix and Repent, Lest We Forget, and Antichrist Superstar.. One of my all-time favorite musical artists. The other two CDs are Meatloaf - Bat Out Of Hell and Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral.

3 for $5.00. Pretty damn good deal for Burt's Bees.

$1.00 I needed something to hold my hair back.

$12 - Handmade owl earrings. Love them!

The next two photos are from a rummage sale my aunt went to and bought 4 boxes full of yarn and half-finished projects.

I finished the blankets and intend to sell them. I unraveled a few half done projects that I didn't even know what the heck they were.

And you know those hydrangea photos I was going to get framed like, forever ago from this post?

Well, I finally got it framed! Yay! Still not totally sure where it's going to go yet.

I also wanted to share the fact that I got a haircut, but it was not photo-ready today, haha! It was super stringy and greasy since it's no-shower Sunday. So you get a photo of me in a hat. :P You can see how short it is.

Other than what I shared with you, there isn't too much going on. Just still trying to get my projects done. OHHH!! I forgot to share.. I had a bunch of stuff made with my thriftyredhead logo on it. I'm going to wear it at Fondue Fest! I had a coffee mug made, a mousepad, t-shirt, tote bag, and key chain! I also had an owl tote made, because honestly, I couldn't resist! I also had a special rubber stamp made. I can't wait to get everything! Then I can bag and tag what I have made. :)

What are you doing this week to keep busy? Any on-going projects? Any awesome plans?

Keep calm and thrift on, yo!

Alto Fair

There is a small fair near my hometown and every year my mom, her friend Eve, and I all enter artistic pieces we create. Mom and Eve do cross-stitching and I usually enter my photography. This year they weren't sure if we were going to enter anything so I didn't prep any of my photos. Then my mom called me on Tuesday and said that they were going to go enter pieces. I was a little miffed because it was so last minute and I had absolutely no photography to enter, and I didn't have time to go have some printed for me. So I decided to enter some of my knitted pieces. Tuesday is when you drop your stuff off and on Thursday you pick it up. Well, I wasn't able to go either night, which to be honest, ticked me off. I had to close almost all week. I was not impressed. So I came home at quarter to midnight last night to find out how I placed...

Special merit! Woohoo!

Mom and Eve were super jealous. They've been trying to get one of these since they started entering their pieces! The first time I enter knitting... Ha! I did pretty good. I usually do pretty good. Although last year was terrible because the judges were suuuper picky. But this year, I killed it!

I'm actually pretty stoked. :)

Big Damn Thrifter

Hello all! I was finally able to get together all of the fabulous stuff I thrifted last weekend and some from today!

Last weekend I went with my family to Maxwell Days in Mukwonago, WI. It's basically a biiig ole flea market. I didn't buy much there, but we did hit a Goodwill on the way home. Which is where I purchased most of this stuff. (Like I really needed any of it!)

Without further ado, here come the fotos! :)

This is a dress I found at the Goodwill we stopped at after Maxwell Days. $4.99, the chest part of the dress doesn't fit, but the rest of the dress does. I figure I'll wear a white or yellow tank top underneath it. I wear tanks tops all the time as undershirts anyway.

$4.99 at the same Goodwill as the first one. This one is a little big in the hips. I can either take it in or just wear as is. I love the daisies!

Same Goodwill as the other two. $3.99

Scored some interlocking fitness mats for $3.99 at that same Goodwill. I don't plan on exercising on them... I plan on blocking knitted creations on them.

Last but not least from that Goodwill, a pretty awesome belt for $.99. But after wearing it once, I know why it was there. It's hard to get off!

I found this sweater at the Goodwill here where I live. I can't remember what I paid for it, but it's super comfy. I'm pretty sure it's a man's sweater, but it looks super cute on.

I scored these three CDs at Salvation army for $1 a piece. Pretty awesome. I do love classical music.

$1.99 at Goodwill. SCORE! I love me some MM.

As you can see, $2.99 from Goodwill. Like I really needed another book... But I do love books so much. I just don't get to read nearly as much as I'd like to. If I can ever figure out a way to read and knit and watch TV all at once I will die happy.

I'm actually not sure what I paid for this one. I got it from my Goodwill here in town, today along with the MM CD and the other book. The clearance sticker is from Borders, I believe so I probably paid only a dollar for it. Either way, it's probably an awesome read.

So those are my finds over the last two weeks-ish.

Tonight I have so many things to do. A friend of mine requested that I sew her some poop pile shaped bean bags for her kids at work. (She's a children's librarian.) Which I'm having some real difficulties with the sewing of these poop sacks. Ugh! Pain in the butt. She owes me! Hear that, E? You owe me, girl!

After I make the poop bags, I have to dye and cut my hair. Jeesh. Too many things to do, not to even mention I have a scarf to finish and two more to start!

This week is going to kill me!

What are YOU doing this week to keep busy?
