It's Been Quite A While

I'm sorry I haven't updated in a very long time. Oh gosh, I'm such a procrastinator! I guess I should fill y'all in on what's been going on lately. Work has been so crazy busy with the Holidays fast approaching!

Well in August, we had to put our other dog Frankie down. It was awful. He'd have been 18 years old in September. I've had him since I was 8.

I've thrifted lots of things over the past few months. Mostly fabric and books. A super awesome vintage camera, a mustache cup, and a new dress here and there. And an awesome Halloween costume.

Lady Lumberjack costume. The dress, yes, it is a dress and not a night gown, was $3.50 from St. Vinnies and the axe was $5.99 from the Halloween store. Cheap costume! Stupid face was free! :P

My parents went on a short trip a few weeks ago and I ended up making a cat bed and a huge bag to hold my yarn.

I've knitted quite a bit, too. Made lots of hair pieces and more Harry Potter necklaces. I've also branched out and started making my own stitch markers.

Stitch Markers.

Bella Mittens.

Coasters

Copy Cat Hat

All three of these are the same pattern, Irish Ear Warmer.

And a fluffy scarf!

I'm working on some Bella Mittens, a Copy Cat scarf to match the hat and a cabled neckwarmer.

I'm hoping to have the scarf and mittens done by Christmas because they are gifts. Not sure that will happen though, haha!

I am seriously going to try to update at least once a week. Possibly three times a week if I can.

What have you all been working on this holiday season?!

Holy Moly Me Oh My!

It has been quite a while since I have updated! My gosh, life just gets in the way sometimes. You know, work. Blah! I've been trying to find a new job, but the economy is just yuck. No luck yet.

I've been doing more photography lately. I have two digital collages that are just awesome that I put together. I'll have to add them at the end. I'm actually taking some of my photos to a local fair to be judged. I'm excited.

I have been thrifting quite a bit in the past few months. I have lots of photos! I've condensed them for your sake and my own. Just grouped them for easier viewing.

Anywhoo.. onto the finds!

My awesomely gorgeous dresses! The only one I don't really care fore is the black and white "tribal" one. The blue and pink ones are the same dress, just different colors. My absolute favorite dress is the 60's housewife periwinkle and white polkadot dress. With a white belt it looks ab fab! The teal and white in the lowest left corner is a bit tight in the chest, but it looks super cute on. I can wear a tank underneath without having to worry about showing my giblets. My second absolute favorite is the second to last dress. The light blue with red roses. Love it!

This is another dress I have. Very school teachery. I'd like to have it shortened a bit. If I could get it to my knees, it would be much cuter, I think.

All of the cardigans I picked up to go with my dresses.

All my books. I'm a bibliophile, what can I say?

Some shirts and capris/shorts. The orange tunic is huuuge on me, but looks super stylish with a wide black belt and black leggings or jean capris.

Buttons!

Cute yellow layered skirt!

Little black kitten heels.

Purses!

Now, on to my crafty creations!

Moss stitch bow head band! I followed the pattern wrong so it's a little jank.

Dishcloths/Washcloths!

Hair accessories!

This one is a honker! Maybe I should mail it to Lady Gaga?

This is a neck supported that I got from the doctor. Early on in June I had a bad bout of torticollis and had to go to urgent care for it. It sucked. Plus I took some vicodin that didn't agree with me. Whoops! So I got this lovely collar from the urgent care doc. I figured I should make little sleeves for it when I got better. This way if it gets sweaty, I just have to wash the sleeves. The collar itself I don't think you can wash. It's like a dense foam.

The pink and black fun fur scarf I've been dinking around with for a while. Finally finished. A little shorter that I'd originally planned, but hey, at least you won't be trippin' on it. For sale!

That's about all. Not really much else to report. I'm going to try to start blogging at least twice to three times a week with various things. Shoot me some ideas of what you'd like to see/read!

Photos as I promised!

I got the first photo framed. I plan to print out the other two and frame them just as they are here.

Same with this one. I plan to eventually have this framed the way you see it here!

Aren't they perrty?! My favorite is the hydrangeas!

Like I said I plan to start trying to blog 2-3 times a week! Shoot me some suggestions of what you'd like to see and hear! I am all ears... err.. eyes. Whatever. You know what I mean! ;D

Keep calm and thrift on!

Newest Additions!

Hallo there! It's been a little while since my last update.

It seems I've given up on knitting! Ha! I have about 4 or 5 projects in limbo as I type this. Poor little guys. Maybe I'll knit a bit tomorrow.
I've mostly been kinda veggin' out and not doing much, but I started a new craft adventure... flower hair clips! (Photos to follow!)

I have also been embroidering too. After I finished my last piece I gave it a rest for a few days.

I've been thrifting. Not much, but I got a few things. Mostly fabric and buttons. I bought a few CDs, mostly for my mom. A few for myself also.

Dvorak Legends: The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
Andrea Bocelli - Amore
Monteverdi Vespers of 1610
In Cena Domini - Gregorian Chant

I have only listened to one and it's pretty awesome. I'm hoping the other three are just as good. I like a lot of odd music.

I have become a total coffee addict. My favorite is Berres Brothers Highland Grogg. It is so good! I tried Kahlua coffee today. It was Mocha flavored. It was pretty good, but I still prefer BB. Packer Perc from BB is pretty awesome too! They sell little packets of the coffee for you to try at like Wal*Mart, Piggly Wiggly and Pick N Save. The Kahlua was from TJ Maxx. I also tried Steep N Brew flavored coffee. Vanilla Almond was amazing! I highly recommend any of these coffees if you are a coffee drinker.

So.. I found this tutorial online for no-heat curls. I dye my hair so much, if I use my curling iron it totally fries my ends. And I love having curly hair, it's just time consuming to do and so damaging to my locks. So, I tried it. Oh mah goodness! Worked swimmingly!

Before.

After.
I absolutely love this technique! I even love the style it is when it's up in the headband. I don' think I'll ever have straight hair again! Haha!

Well, now I'm going to drown you with photos of my newest embroidery pieces!

Firefly!!

Dexter!

I love this one!

Plus, a WIP.

Okay, maybe not so much drown as... drizzle.

Okay, so I want opinions..
Do you think I should do themed posts? Or on certain days post certain things? I need to spruce this ol' blog up!

Shoot some ideers my way!

TTFN, TR!

Helloooo Again!!

Well looks, like it's about that time again!

I haven't thrifted much lately. Bought a shirt and a bunch of embroidery hoops and various fabrics. And lots more CDs. And a bundle of knitting needles. (You know, because I TOTES need more of those.) I didn't take photos of any of my finds, but I assure you the CDs are awesomesauce.

I've kept on with the embroidery and I will show you my newest pieces. I finally finished that one fun fur scarf and I started on the next one. Again, with the photos.

Black fun fur scarf!!!! It's for sale if anyone is interested!

A cute knitting brooch I made. I actually knitted with those toothpicks. It was very hard! But it's a pretty sweet little doohickey.

My second embroidery piece. Lyrics from an Iron and Wine song. Love and Some Verses I believe is the song. He is an indie folk rock/acoustic artist. If you're not familiar with him, you should be.

A Matryoshka doll for my BFF.

Made this for my mom on Mother's Day.

My latest creation. Used yarn and real knitting needles. Filled with a bit of poly fil from an old pillow. The needles were thrifted needles.

And my friends, that's it for this entry.

Keep Calm and Thrift On.
TR, out!
